A sudden unexpected loss has left a profound impact upon the Square One family.

Ernesto Pinto, who retired from his position in 2024, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2026.

Ernesto left an immeasurable impact on the Spanish-speaking world as a speaker and broadcaster during his 30 years with our organization.

His radio program Encuentro (Encounter) and television show 180 Grados (180 Degrees) were incredible instruments used to spread the message and life-changing power of the Gospel, being broadcasted on hundreds and hundreds of radio and television stations in Latin America, the United States and around the world.

The announcement of Ernesto’s passing on the Encuentro Facebook page has reached over a million views (as of May 2026), with hundreds of comments speaking of the impact he had on people’s lives through his ministry.

“We thank God for (Ernesto’s) life and faithful service,” Heriberto Ayala (current host/producer of Encuentro) said in a statement from our Spanish ministry. “Although he is no longer physically with us, his legacy will live on throughout Latin America. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Marina and the entire Pinto family.”
